SaunaLife is a European-designed sauna brand offering one of the widest product ranges in the market — barrel saunas, cube saunas, cabin saunas, pod saunas, indoor saunas, cold plunge tubs, wood-fired hot tubs, and a full line of accessories. All SaunaLife saunas are traditional (electric heater, not infrared) and built from thermo-treated woods — primarily thermo-spruce and thermo-aspen — that are heat-treated for improved dimensional stability, moisture resistance, and durability in outdoor conditions. Most models ship as DIY kits with WiFi-enabled app controls and behind-the-bench LED lighting standard. Free shipping on every SaunaLife product, 0% APR financing available.
SaunaLife's Ergo barrel saunas feature an ergonomic bench design that follows the curve of the barrel wall, giving you a more comfortable backrest than the flat benches in most competing barrel saunas. All Ergo barrels include a shingled roof, behind-the-bench LED lighting, and WiFi app-based controls. Built from thermo-spruce. Shop all barrel saunas.
E6 (2–4 Person, 5' Long) — SaunaLife's most compact barrel. Available in three configurations: standard (E6), rear window (E6W) for more natural light and a view out the back, and glass front (available in the EE-series variant). A great starting point if you want a quality barrel sauna in a smaller footprint.
E7 (4 Person, 6' Long) — One foot longer than the E6 with more bench room. Available in standard (E7) and glass front (E7G) configurations. The extra length gives two people noticeably more elbow room during sessions.
E8 (6 Person, 7' Long) — SaunaLife's largest standard barrel. Available in standard (E8), rear window (E8W), and glass front (E8G). Seats six people comfortably with two-tier bench seating and enough interior room for a family or group.
EE6G & EE8G (4 Person, Glass Front) — Compact barrels (5.25' and 6' long respectively) with a full glass front wall for a bright, open interior. The glass front is a distinctive aesthetic choice that also lets natural light flood the sauna.
G11 (8 Person, Hobbit House with Changeroom) — SaunaLife's most unique barrel sauna. A dual-room design with a full sauna room and an equally-sized changing room, built in a whimsical hobbit house style with a covered entryway. Seats up to 8 people. This is a statement piece — it's as much a backyard focal point as it is a sauna.
SaunaLife's Cube saunas have a clean, modern flat-roof design that stands out from traditional barrel and cabin shapes. Every detail in the CL-series is built for comfort and durability — thermo-treated wood construction, glass doors, and a minimalist profile that fits modern backyard aesthetics. Shop all cube saunas.
CL3G (2 Person, 4.2' Long) — The smallest cube. Compact enough for tight spaces while still seating two people comfortably.
CL4G (3 Person, 4.1' Long) — A 3-person cube with a slightly different interior layout than the CL3G. One of SaunaLife's best-selling models overall (5,554 impressions in search, strong click performance).
CL5G (4 Person, 4.6' Long) — Steps up to 4-person capacity with more bench space. A solid middle-ground choice if you want cube styling with room for two people to spread out or three to sit comfortably.
CL7G (6 Person, 7.6' Long) — The largest cube in the lineup. Generous interior room for a family or group, with the same clean flat-roof design as the smaller models. If you want the cube aesthetic at the largest possible scale, this is it.
G2 (4 Person, Cabin) — A clean, simple outdoor cabin sauna with light spruce construction that blends into most backyard settings. Compact footprint, straightforward assembly. Shop all cabin saunas.
G3 (4 Person, Pod) — An outdoor pod sauna with a distinctive parabolic arched roof. The curved roofline gives the G3 a unique visual presence that stands apart from conventional barrels and flat-roof cabins. Shop all pod saunas.
G4 (6 Person, Cabin) — SaunaLife's full-size outdoor cabin sauna. A larger, more traditional cabin layout with room for six people. Strong construction designed for year-round outdoor use.
G6 (5 Person, Pre-Assembled) — SaunaLife's premium fully assembled outdoor sauna cabin. Unlike the kit models, the G6 ships as a complete, finished unit — no assembly required. It arrives ready to place on your foundation, connect the heater, and start using. This is the choice for buyers who want zero DIY involvement. Shop all pre-assembled saunas.
SaunaLife's indoor line features Nordic-inspired design with full glass front doors that let natural light into the sauna room. Built from thermo-treated wood with clean lines and a contemporary aesthetic that works well in bathrooms, basements, home gyms, and dedicated wellness rooms. Shop all indoor traditional saunas.
X2 (2 Person) — A compact indoor sauna with a full glass front. Open and airy interior design that makes the sauna feel larger than its footprint. Good for apartments, small homes, or dedicated sauna rooms with limited space.
X6 (4 Person) — A mid-size indoor sauna with the same glass-front design as the X2 in a wider cabin. Room for four people with two-tier bench seating.
X7 (4–6 Person) — SaunaLife's largest indoor model. Full glass front, two-tier benches, and enough room for a family or for stretching out solo. Optional chromotherapy LED lighting and floor kits are available as add-ons.
SaunaLife builds cold plunge tubs and a wood-fired hot tub in the same thermo-treated wood as their saunas, creating a matching backyard wellness setup when paired together.
S1N / S1B (1 Person Cold/Hot Plunge) — A compact single-person immersion tub available in natural thermo-pine (S1N) or black thermo-pine (S1B). Functions as both a cold plunge and a hot tub — fill with ice for cold therapy or warm water for soaking. Shop all cold plunges.
S2N / S2B (2 Person Cold/Hot Plunge) — A larger two-person version available in natural (S2N) or black (S2B) thermo-pine. Same dual cold/hot functionality as the S1 in a bigger tub.
S4 (Wood-Fired Hot Tub) — A wood-burning hot tub engineered and crafted in Northern Europe. Heats in roughly one-third the time of comparable wood-fired tubs. No electricity required — a fully off-grid hot tub option that pairs well with SaunaLife's outdoor saunas.
SaunaLife offers a full ecosystem of accessories designed specifically for their sauna models: flat floor kits for barrel saunas (the curved barrel floor benefits from a flat walking surface), chromotherapy LED lighting for X-series indoor saunas, decorative sconce and LED bar lighting sets for barrel saunas, removable floor kits for X7 saunas, and traditional bucket/ladle/thermometer/hygrometer accessory packages. If you're buying a SaunaLife sauna, check the accessories section on this page — the floor kits and lighting upgrades are popular additions.
SaunaLife primarily uses thermo-spruce and thermo-aspen — European woods that are heat-treated (thermally modified) at high temperatures to improve dimensional stability, moisture resistance, and decay resistance. Thermo-treatment changes the wood's cellular structure so it absorbs less water and resists warping and cracking better than untreated wood. The cold plunge tubs use thermo-pine. This is a different construction approach than brands like Dundalk Leisurecraft, which uses Eastern White Cedar (a naturally rot-resistant North American wood).
Most SaunaLife sauna kits do not include the heater. Check the specific model page for what's included, as some models offer heater options or bundles. All SaunaLife saunas are traditional (electric heater with stones, not infrared), so they require a 240V dedicated circuit and professional electrical installation. Browse our electric sauna heaters if you need a replacement or upgrade.
Dundalk Leisurecraft is the closest comparable brand. Both offer barrel, cabin, and pod-style outdoor saunas as DIY kits. The key differences: SaunaLife uses European thermo-treated woods (spruce, aspen) while Dundalk uses North American Eastern White Cedar. SaunaLife offers a wider model range (cubes, the G11 hobbit house, indoor X-series, cold plunges, hot tubs) and includes WiFi controls on most models. Dundalk's advantage is Canadian craftsmanship in a naturally aromatic cedar with over 20 years of production history. Both are excellent brands — the choice often comes down to wood preference and which specific model shape fits your backyard.
The G6 is the easiest by far — it ships fully assembled with no construction required. Among the DIY kits, the barrel saunas (Ergo series) are the fastest to assemble since the staves and bands go together without complex carpentry. Cube and cabin models take a bit longer but are still designed for DIY assembly with standard tools. Shop all DIY sauna kits.
Yes — all outdoor SaunaLife models need a level, stable surface. Gravel pads, concrete pads, deck platforms, and paver patios all work. Barrel saunas can also sit on cradle supports on a level surface. Read our sauna foundation guide.
